Augmented reality quiz for engaging youth
In May 2023, as part of the EU NEIGHBOURS EAST regional communication programme, we developed and piloted an augmented reality quiz on Instagram and Facebook to engage younger audiences with stimulating questions about the EU. Designed to be easy to use and intriguing enough to encourage repeated attempts, the quiz achieved impressive engagement. By autumn, the English version had been opened by 18.4K people, with users spending an average of 20 seconds per session. Following this success, additional versions in Armenian, Georgian, and Romanian (for Moldova) were launched in September, attracting 21.4K more users, bringing the total to nearly 40K participants. Around 40% of the quiz takers were aged 18-24, showcasing its effectiveness in reaching younger demographics. With growing demand, we are now expanding the quiz to include a Russian language version for Moldova and exploring further adaptations, reinforcing the EU’s connection with youth through innovative and interactive tools.
